Marcus® Hotels & Resorts Properties and Restaurants Recognized with TripAdvisor® 2014 Certificate of Excellence

Fifteen Marcus-owned and/or operated hotels and twelve restaurants and lounges receive prestigious recognition

MILWAUKEE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jun. 10, 2014-- Marcus® Hotels & Resorts, a division of The Marcus Corporation (NYSE: MCS), today announced that 15 of its owned and managed properties have received the TripAdvisor® 2014 Certificate of Excellence. Twelve restaurants and lounges in its portfolio also received the 2014 Certificate of Excellence. Joining the nearly 58,000 U.S. hospitality businesses that received the award this year, the Certificate of Excellence is awarded to the upper echelon of businesses listed on the TripAdvisor website.

The TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence recognizes establishments that consistently achieve exceptional reviews on TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, and represent the top tier of businesses listed on the website. Now in its fourth year, the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence celebrates leaders in the hospitality industry from across the globe that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews.

Winners of the Certificate of Excellence award are chosen based on an algorithm that takes review ratings, volume and recency of reviews as well as the business’ tenure and popularity ranking into account. Only establishments with at least a four out of five overall rating are eligible for consideration. Winners of the prestigious award include accommodations, eateries and attractions of all sizes.
